Coronelli's wonderfully decorative map of the Spanish Canary Islands ("a possession of His Catholic Majesty"), Madeira and part of the African coastline. The right side of the map is occupied by a pair of dramatic drapery insets: the top one featuring the island of Madeira divided into two counties; the bottom one, a plan of Funchal, Madeira's capital, with ships in the harbor.
