The three main Brasil maps on two sheets from the atlas of Prevost d'Exiles' Histoire Generale des Voyages. The large first map (Carte du Bresil) extends from the mouth of the Amazon to Todos os Santos Bay (Salvador). The map is rich in coastal place names (including those of the administrative divisions known as captaincies) and topographical details, but the interior is largely blank, except for an impressive title cartouche and a note stating that "the interior of the country is not known" and that "the nomadic peoples that live there are called Tapuyas"). Both Suite du Bresil maps have far more interior detail. The first extends from Salvador to Sao Paulo; the third extends from the Sao Paulo region to the mouth of the La Plata River and includes what is now Uruguay and part of Paraguay.
