Le Rouge's large, splendidly detailed map of the Kingdom of Sardinia ("based on the manuscript maps drawn on the island by Piedmontese engineers") includes a brief historical summary listing Sardinia's multiple conquerors, a key to the island's metalurgical resources, and a dedication to the "Gentlemen of the Royale Academy of Sciences." Locations of battles are marked with swords and the date of the battle and a note adjacent to San Pietro Island refers to the Genoese emigrants from the colony of Tabarka in Tunisia who populated the island.
