Bellin's highly detailed maps of Eastern and Western Tartary from Prevost d'Exiles' influential collection of travel narratives, Histoire Generale des Voyages.The upper map (Tartarie Orientale) encompasses Sakhalin Island and the course of the Amur River through what is now southeastern Russia and northeastern China. The second map (Tartarie Occidentale) encompasses parts of Siberia, Mongolia and northern China, including Beijing and a stretch of the Great Wall.
