Frezier's fascinating two-volume account of his voyage of exploration in the "South Sea" and the coasts of Chili, Peru and Brazil, with 21 (22) copperplate maps and plans and 15 copperplate engravings of costumes, plants and animals. Of special are the maps and plans of Brazil (St. Catherine Island, Todos os Santos Bay, Salvador, Angra) and of the Magellan Straits (le Maire Strait and a detailed folding map of Cape Horn).
