A beautifully preserved, dark impression of van der Aa's reissue of the small Western Hemisphere originally created by Goos for Jansson's 1628 edition of Mercator's Atlas Minor. The only changes to the 1628 plate were the addition of a compass rose and mileage scale and a change to the title cartouche. A scarce and fascinating Americas map. Item Number: rs1652
