Published in the Homann Heirs' Major Atlas Scholasticus, Tobias Mayer's wonderfully detailed map of Switzerland ("composed of 13 free states called Cantons") provides excellent topographical and political information. The cartouche on the upper right contains a key to symbols used for cities, towns, monasteries, castles and navigable rivers. The coats of arms of the 13 cantons outline the title cartouche.
