The superbly detailed and engraved bird's-eye view of the German city of Heidelberg on the River Neckar, under siege during the Thirty Years War by Spanish Netherlandish forces led by Johan Tzerclaes, Count of Tilly. An imperial coat of arms is held aloft by cherubs; a number key identifies major sites in the city and military posts around it.
