Bellin's superbly rendered map of the Empire of China and the Kingdom of Korea, with good topographical detail, many place names, and three elaborate cartouches, from Prevost d'Exiles' influential collection of travel narratives, Histoire Generale des Voyages. A helpful note on the lower left corner indicates explains that "to avoid confusion, only cities of the first rank and a few of the second rank have been included. The major cities are set in Roman type, the secondary cities in italics." A notice in the upper left corner indicates that this map is a correction of an earlier map based on Jesuit sources, included in Volume V of the Histoire. Item Number: RS2808
