Grondvlakte van Nieuw Orleans, de Hoofstad van Louisiana

This item has been sold. Please check our homepage for currently available maps.
On the left half of the sheet is Tirion's wonderfully detailed plan of 18th-century New Orleans (today's French quarter), "the capital of Louisiana," with a letter key to major monuments. The plan is derived from Jefferys' plan, which itself relied on Bellin's 1744 version. On the right side are two charts of the mouth of the Mississippi: the upper chart is of the overall delta; the lower, of the eastern outlet protected by Fort La Balise.
