A New Map of North America

This item has been sold. Please check our homepage for currently available maps.
The fascinating North America map from Cary's New Universal Atlas shows the United States in the wake of the Louisiana Purchase, but before the explorations of Lewis and Clark, Pike, and Humboldt. California is named New Albion; the northern coastlines of Alaska and western Canada are formed by an "Icy Sea." Like the other maps from this atlas, the North America map abounds in place names and topographical details (some of them imaginary).
