A superbly detailed (and beautifully preserved) map of the French Republic in the year XII (1804), "after the Peace of Amiens." Encompassing southern England, the map shows France divided into 108 departments and includes an inset map of Corsica and an icon key to municipal divisions. A fascinating map of Napoleonic France from the atlas volume of the Statistique générale et particulière de la France et de ses colonies, publlished by F. Buisson.
