The second continuation of Bellin's detailed map of the Guinea coast in west Africa (see RS2325), from Cape Appollonia to the mouth of the Volta River in what is now Ghana (the Gold Coast), from the atlas of Prevost d'Exiles' influential collection of travel narratives, Histoire Generale des Voyages. Features many place names, including the names of local kingdoms and tribal territories. A second decorative cartouche contains a note from Bellin explaining the lack of political boundaries and differences among sources regarding the configuration of this stretch of the Guinea coast.
