Lodge's Mexico Map for The Political Magazine of London encompasses all of the present-day Southwest of the United from New Orleans to California, or "New Albion," as the latter is labeled. Texas is spelled "Tecas" and is just south of the "Great Space of Land Unknown." A note on the Mississippi refers to the destruction of the Natchez Indians by the French in 1772.
