Tallis' wonderfully decorative illustrated map of northwestern South America includes four charming vignettes: the snow-capped Chimborazo volcano in Ecuador, a tropical landscape with a flock of what appear to be ostriches, the Fall of the Bagota river, and a view of the harbor of Paramaribo, the whole surrounded by a delicate floral and vine border.
