This item has been sold. Please check our homepage for currently available maps.
A fascinating engraved view of one of the German-Moravian evangelical utopian communities in the Virgin Islands. The oldest of these communities, New Herrnut on St. Thomas was named after the sect's original village, Herrnhut in Germany (Saxony). Entitled "View of New Herrnhut on St. Thomas from the east side," the engraving depicts a panorama of St. Thomas with the New Herrnhut church, village and surrounding plantations in the center and three gentlemen admiring the view in the foreground.
