A fascinating scene from a French illustrated periodical showing the newly named Emperor Maximilian of Mexico bording the ship Themis docked in front of his palace at Miramar near Trieste. Maximilian sailed from Miramar to Mexico in April 1864 to take up his ill-fated imperial duties. Item Number: G2581
