Jaillot's beautifully detailed map of the Holy Land divided into the 12 tribal territories is based on an earlier map by Sanson and is dedicated to Louis the XIV. It features two splendid cartouches: the mileage scale cartouche shows the creation; the title cartouche is topped by the figures of Moses and Aaraon flanking the French royal coat of arms.
