A superb exemplar of the first Italian edition of the "American Gazetteer" published in London in 1762, with all new maps and illustrations by Pazzi, Scacciati, Terreni, Vanni, et al. The three-volume A-to-Z gazetteer includes an engraved frontispiece, 41 highly desirable and beautifully engraved maps and plans of New World regions, islands and cities (23 of them folding), 36 plates depicting New World flora, fauna, peoples, products, and industries. Highlights include scarce maps and plans of Florida, New England, New York City, the Great Lakes, Panama, Mexico, Cartagena, Lima, St. Eustace and many other Caribbean islands. Except for the volume 1 list of plates, the set is complete and in superb condition, with its original binding and ribbon bookmarks.
