The third edition of von Adrichom's landmark description and atlas of the Holy Land, considered to be the first scientifically based work of historical geography devoted to the Holy Land. This well-preserved exemplar contains the 9 maps depicting the territories of the 12 tribes, the Pharan Desert map showing the route of the Exodus, the magnificent plan of Jerusalem (which remained the definitive representation of the city until the 19th century), and one part of the two-part general Holy Land map (Situs Terrae Promissionis). A magnificent and influential milestone in Holy Land cartography.
