Totius Orbis Terrarum Tabula, Eiusque Post Diluvium Divisio Inter Filios Noachi.

A fascinating map of the ancient world as it was divided among Noah's sons after the Flood. Showing some internal topography, a rudimentary knowledge of Australia, and great uncertainty over the link between North America and Asia, the map includes a numbered key to place names on the four continents and a remarkable cartouche featuring Noah's ark and scenes of the Flood. Since the map is centered on the Garden of Eden in Mesopotamia, North America is divided, with an island California on the right side of the map and the rest of the Americas on the left. A curious but riveting geo-religious map.
