A magnificent, large-scale map of a small slice of the Pacific coasts of Nicaragua and Cost Rica, from San Miguel (now in El Salvador) to Queypo in Cost Rica. The map, by one of the leading English cartographers of the day, shows ships sailing on Lake Nicaragua and volcanoes erupting throughout the region. The greater part of this beautifully designed map is taken up by a large swath of the Pacific Ocean, labeled in bold type “The Great South Sea."
